Tour of an Expensive Car Dealership in Southern California

On a recent trip to the San Diego area to visit a friend, I managed a quick visit to the Symbolic Motor Car Company. The expensive southern California car dealership is appropriately situated in the heart of La Jolla. This wealthy San Diego suburb boasts many notable residents including presidential candidate Mitt Romney ($12 million dollar vacation home), Jenny Craig, pro golfer Phil Mickelson and so on. The Symbolic Car Dealership is an authorized dealer of Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and Bugatti. Amazingly, while I visited there were two Bugatti Veyron 16.4 supercars on display. Unfortunately, they were nestled in a private locked showroom, although the large windows allowed for passersby to drool over the cars. As I walked through the expensive car dealership showroom I was delighted to see the diversity in the selection of exotics. The La Jolla car dealership had everything from a classic Aston Martin or Jaguar convertible, to a new pink Bentley GTC or even a blacked out Lamborghini Aventador. The Symbolic Motors car dealership in my opinion features about 70% of the world’s most desirable car models, although I would have liked to see more Ferrari’s in the mix, particularly a used Enzo or F50. High Speed & Drifting Ride-Along Experience

The high speed and drifting ride-along with a professional Indy Car driver at the Exotics Racing Experience in Las Vegas, NV was perhaps the most intense automotive experience of my life – and I don’t consider myself to be void of performance car experiences. The action starts right from the pit area as he does a massive sideways burnout out onto the track in the blue Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 supercar. Before your done scrambling for something to hang onto you are already into the first curve and sliding sideways again with the wide Lamborghini tires failing to find grip under the massive 542 horsepower. As the pro driver rockets the car through the track, it becomes evident that the other white Gallardo I drove prior was capable of a lot more. By the time we reached the pit area again, my face was sore from smiling so much and my body tight from the super intense experience. I’d definitely recommend this next time you visit Sin City!

Ferrari 458 Italia Experience at Exotics Racing Vegas

My favorite exotic car that I drove at the Las Vegas Exotics Racing Experience was the Ferrari 458 Italia. For approximately $220,000 this car seems like a relative bargain with its aggressive “in your face” appearance, intoxicating exhaust note, superb handling, blazingly quick acceleration, incredible cornering abilities and precise, responsive steering inputs. Plus its pretty cool to look behind you and see the 562 horsepower Italian masterpiece of an engine within clear view to remind you that you’re not in an ordinary car by any means. The interior was also my favorite compared to the Porsche 997 Turbo S and Lamborghini Gallardo LP550. The Ferrari was well appointed with plenty of rich camel leather and accented with aluminum and carbon fiber for additional eye candy. Really no complaints with this car. It performs amazing, looks great inside and out and sounds so good that it entices you to push the accelerator simply to hear the beautiful engine melody. The only negative about my experience with the 458 Ferrari at Exotics Racing was that I only ordered a 5 lap experience…next time I will certainly do a longer track experience. Lamborghini Gallardo LP550 Experience at Exotics Racing Vegas

At Exotics Racing of Las Vegas I had the privilege of racing a Lamborghini Gallardo LP550 around a curvacious race track and accompanied by a pro racing instructor. This Italian beast was very intense to drive. From the amazingly fast acceleration to the loud engine howls, this exotic car was an absolute blast to drive. As the race instructor continuously pushed me to drive faster and faster with his instruction, the Lambo maintained my confidence that it could handle the increased speeds and sharper maneuvers. I was impressed with how this beautiful white Lamborghini Gallardo LP550 stayed completely glued to the road around fast turns and pressed my back hard to the seat as I stomped the gas peddle. Since I am 6ft 3in I opted to not drive Exotics Racing’s Gallardo LP570 since the fixed racing seat could prove difficult for a person of my stature to sit comfortably. Porsche 997 Turbo S Experience at Exotics Racing Vegas

The Porsche 997 Turbo S at Exotics Racing of Las Vegas is the quickest exotic car they have in their fleet. Now that’s saying something since their fleet is comprised of some of the fastest cars in the world including 2 Lamborghini Aventadors (1 on order), McLaren MP4-12C, Mercedes SLS AMG, Nissan GT-R, Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Superleggera and so on. Evidently their policy is to purchase the most desirable supercars priced under $1,000,000 and if enough people tell them that they would like to drive a certain exotic car that they don’t currently offer, then they wont hesitate to buy it. The Porsche 997 Turbo S is a very quick car, but feels slower than the Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari 458 to me because it is so quiet from the drivers seat. While the Lambo and Ferrari have loud roars, and jerk you back as you shift, the 997 Turbo S sounds more like an airplane taking off as your pushing the peddle down. While some will like how smooth the car is (its difficult to tell if you have shifted), I personally prefer the two Italian cars I drove for their loud roar, adding to my excitement. That being said, I am by no means stating that this car is tame or boring…quite the contrary. Its insanely fast and does a great job of raising your heart rate up as you have a tight “death grip” on the steering wheel as you negotiate the track. The intensity of the experience is shown all over my face…very difficult to stay composed as you go through the track – I embarrassingly kept puffing out my cheeks as my mind was so consumed with the intese experience of driving one of the world’s quickest cars. I would strongly recommend giving the 997 Turbo S a try at Exotics Racing of Las Vegas next time you’re in town.
