1985 Lotus 97T F1 V6 Turbo Sound & Accelerations
Yesterday I was at Imola circuit, in Italy, for the Ayrton Senna Tribute event held for the 20th anniversary of the death of Ayrton. One of the car I saw on track was this 1985 Lotus 97T F1 car which was able to achieve 3 victories (Senna won 2 and De Angelis 1), 2 second places and 4 third places. The car also achieved 8 pole positions. The 97T was moved by a Renault 1.5 litre turbocharged V6 engine which produced approximately 900 bhp for races (the special qualifying engines were reported to produce over 1,000 bhp). Bought 28 years ago by Fredy Kumschick, was no longer been used in a circuit till yesterday.
