2020 Toyota Corolla XSE Review – Should You Buy One?

With over 50 years of history, the Toyota Corolla is easily one of the best-selling nameplates in the world with over 46 million cars sold globally. Since Toyota is enjoying so much success with the Toyota Corolla, a new version of the sedan is a very important addition to the lineup.  Thankfully, for 2020, the Corolla Sedan rides on the same TNGA architecture as the Camry, Avalon, Rav4, and Corolla hatchback which means driving dynamics has greatly improved.  Plus a new 2.0L direct injection engine with 169 HP is available. Manual transmission lovers can rejoice because a rev-matching 6-speed stick is available on SE trims for 2020.  This generation also introduces a new hybrid trim with 121 combined horses and up to 53 MPG in the city.  Historically, Toyota has also seen intense competition from Honda and Mazda so can this new Corolla raise the bar above its main Japanese rivals?
