Tesla Model S Plaid 0-60, 1/4 Mile & Order Process

At the 2020 Tesla Battery Day, founder Elon Musk unveiled the SpaceX rocket-like performance specs of the upcoming Model S Plaid. The new Model S Plaid features hypercar level performance and is available for preorder with a $1,000 deposit. Deliveries of the Model S Plaid are expected to begin towards the end of 2021. The Tesla Model S Plaid will set you back around $140K, although given its practicality, tech, comfort, safety, and now the mind-bending performance (if actually achieved in the production variant), this electric car is the deal of the decade.

The 2022 Model S Plaid will be the fastest Model S trim with a mfg. projected 0-60 in under 2 seconds and quarter mile time in under 9 seconds. To achieve this, the Model S Plaid will pack some serious power…1,100 horsepower to be exact. Not that many Model S owners will reach this limit, but Tesla claims the Plaid can achieve a 200-mph top speed.

Still not sold? The electric automaker also confirmed on Battery Day that the Model S Plaid will boast more than 512 miles of range. Although, something tells us that many owners that reached for this supercar-like EV will not be gingerly driving it to achieve maximum efficiently, but rather hammering the go-pedal at every given chance!

So what you think of the new 2022 Model S Plaid 0-60 and quarter mile spec claims. Would you opt for one if you have the 140 large laying around? Would you go for something else for that kind of money, perhaps something that makes fun noises and goes fast?
