According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the safest cars for 2012 range from large SUVs to sub-compact cars (see list below). Some of the cars included or not included on the 2012 safest car list may surprise you. For example, there are only two BMW’s that made the list, no Porsches, no Rolls-Royces or Bentleys and no Range Rovers. If I was shelling out substantial dollars for a high-end automobile; I would certainly feel more comfortable about the purchase with the inclusion of the car on the list on the 2012 safest cars.
