A Look at the Batmobiles

Batmans Vehicle

The Batmobile has resurfaced in the news lately with the sale of the perhaps most iconic Batmobile of all time.  The original 1966 Batmobile seen on the popular 1960’s Batman TV series was recently auctioned off at the Barrett Jackson car auction in Scottsdale, AZ.  The bat car was built by legendary car customizer George Barris.  His company Barris Kustom Industries was involved in the conceptualization and production of numerous recognizable custom TV and movie cars.  Some of these cars include the Drag-U-La from the Munsters, KITT from Knight Rider and the 1928 Porter truck driven in The Beverly Hillbillies.  The original Batmobile car made history at the auction in part because of the car’s iconic history, but perhaps more so due to the massive amount of money that it brought at auction.  The Batmobile graphic below shows the variety of Batmobiles that have been deployed in comic books, cartoons, TV and films throughout the years.  Post a comment and say which Batmobile you think was the best.
